SAFETY AT T.J. LAMBRECHT CONSTRUCTION

At TJ Lambrecht Construction, Inc. we believe in a Zero Injury / Incident Policy, and prove everyday that it is more than mere rhetoric. It is a foundational value of our corporation, one that is considered in every decision we make. Over the past 5 years TJL has successfully redesigned it’s safety program, and, in doing so has created a culture driven by safety. Some of the programs and values that guide our program are:

TJL Safety

Innovative Safety Programs

  • In 2007 we introduced Soft Tissue Injury Management Program whereby all employees stretch and flex twice a day. Since this programs introduction, we have reduced soft tissue back strains by over 65%.
  • All management personnel are held accountable for safety. Performance metrics have been created for each supervisor and project. These metrics are then measured twice per year by our Safety Department and Executive Management. The results of these reviews have a direct and meaningful bearing on the supervisors review / compensation decision.
  • Qualified Subcontractor programs. We hold our subcontractors to the same high levels we hold ourselves to. If they are unsafe, they don’t work for us.
  • 70 years in the Heavy / Civil business has allowed us to draw on a wealth of knowledge to know what works and does not. This enables us to work more safely and efficiently than our competitors; which puts us in a better position to deliver a project that is on time and on budget.

Training

  • Not many Heavy / Civil contractors place an emphasis on training. We do. All of our Superintendents are trained in: OSHA 30 Hour, MUTCD / Traffic Control, First Aid / CPR, and Excavation Competent Person.
  • TJL also has several crews that are trained in HAZWOPER 40 Hour, HAZWOPER Supervisor, Confined Spaces, and Fall Protection.
  • All Equipment Operators and Truck Drivers undergo an extensive certification process involving classroom training and field testing prior to being authorized to operate any piece of equipment.

Personnel

  • Employee empowerment. Every employee has been provided the training and is given the authority to stop work if it is not safe.
  • TJL employs a team of Safety Professionals that come from very diverse backgrounds. This diversity allows TJL to have a functional expert on hand for any safety situation we may come across.
